THE INSPIRATION // "Feet on the ground, head in the clouds" - this quote was the inspiration behind this collection. I've always been a very practical person, and I've never had a problem keeping my "feet on the ground." However, as I got older, I realized that my dreams were becoming smaller and more practical too. This collection started as a reminder to myself to make sure my dreams stay big and to keep my feet, not just on the ground, but in the flowers. It's about embracing optimism instead of my (usual) practical pessimism.

THE EVOLUTION // While this painting collection started as my own personal reminder to keep nurturing my dreams, as I painted I couldn't help but think of my two young daughters. As each painting evolved, the paintings seemed to capture my daughters' joyful optimism and innocence, and their whole-hearted, whole-bodied exuberance for life. The butterflies and hummingbirds added to each piece came to represent myself, my daughters, my partner - growing, nurturing, and appreciating our lives and dreams together.
